The biggest factor holding back Vista's SlideShow functionality is it's lack of compatibility, but Ikanos Consulting has been hard at work with a solution that brings SlideShow gadgets to the iPhone (oh yeah, and Windows Mobile, too, if anyone cares).Ikanos Consulting's Go Gadgets (beta) supports installation and control of SlideShow gadgets over a wide range of mobile internet connections. In addition to this, they have also created an HTML renderer for gadgets, and even created a specialized interface for the iPhone's browser. While it's not finished or ready for consumer use yet, it is making progress.
