It's a proof of concept at this point, but it's getting there. Since the iPhone's inception, the handset has been criticized for its lack of video recording capabilities. A developer from Monster and friends may be about to change this as a working beta of an application that can create videos from the iPhone's camera has been released. The videos themselves are captured at the camera's full two megapixel resolution although the current frame rate is about 10 frames per second. The author has promised a full 40 to 45 frames per second in following versions of the application. Users will be able to record a five second video and replay it after the footage has been shot. So far, iPhone Alley staff have been unable to download and play with the application, but you can check out the project's page here and see what you make of it.
