Werck BV today released Checkout Server, a dedicated server application for Checkout, their Point of Sale software for Mac OS X, at the Macworld Conference and Expo. Additionally, Werck released Checkout 2.3, an update which includes German, French and Dutch localizations and a new API to create custom reports.
Checkout Server
Many Checkout users asked for a way to keep their valuable store data on a dedicated computer. Checkout Server allows just that, with more simultaneous connections, better performance and improved security.
With Checkout Server, up to forty computers can be connected to a store database at once. Users can schedule automatic store backups with Checkout Server that can run without interruption any time of day, even while employees are logged in to the store. Checkout Server can be administered with both a System Preferences pane and a command-line interface.
