Apple has been quoted as telling a journalist that the September 9th event is a big deal and he should be there.
One East Coast journalist, who writes for a big news weekly, told Cult of Mac that Apple PR called and urged him to fly to San Francisco next week for the press event.
“Apple just told me it’s a big deal and I should try to be there,” said the journalist, who asked to remain anonymous.
This type of call is unusual for Apple, who generally tries to keep details about its press events secret. This could be a hint that the event will introduce more then just a revamp to the iPod.
The "Let's Rock" event is scheduled for 10am, September 9th at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
