France Adds Royalty Tax To iPhone

The Albis Commission in France met specially yesterday to vote on the royalty tax for the iPhone. It was decided that a 7 euro tax would be added to the iPhone, the same amount that is currently taxed on the iPod.

The tax must be applied by April 1st. It is unlikely that Orange will absorb this cost; therefore, it will be transferred to the consumer.
