The iPhone debuted with three seemingly pricey plan rates, however some quickly discovered AT&T’s GoPhone plans were available for the iPhone. Designed for those that fail the credit check, they are ‘pay as you go’ rates. Yesterday Apple released Firmware version 1.1.3, and following the update many users on the GoPhone plan found themselves without access to the EDGE network. AT&T Customer support has done little to help the problem. Calls have garnered mixed results, with suggestions ranging from restarting your bill or paying the hefty per kilobyte rate. The AT&T forums are also offering little help to affected customers. After the update affected phones are displaying a “You are not subscribed to the EDGE network” message.
