Create custom iPhone and iPod Touch webclip icons

Dan Dickinson has posted a super-simple way to ensure that those who visit your site with an iPod Touch or iPhone will get a nice-looking webclip icon. When I say simple, I mean it:
Create a 57×57 PNG.
Name it “apple-touch-icon.png”
Throw it in the root folder of your website. (Not the root of your server, the root of your web documents.)
That’s it. Note that your icon will receive the glossy treatment as well as those rounded corners, so keep that in mind. The two we’re currently aware of are Clipalizer and WebClip Directory. Both sites allow uploading of a 57×57 PNG image which creates the custom icon for the site you specify. You then visit the generated URL on your iPhone or iPod touch and create a webclip. The icon is downloaded to your device and pointed to the URL you specified (eg nytimes.com instead of networkadvanced.com). If it’s still not clear (it wasn’t to us), give it a try and you’ll understand.
We realize that some of you may have already heard about this, but we think those that haven’t will appreciate us mentioning it.
