iPhone Brings Increased Data Usage In UK

An FT.com article was published recently that reports on several statistics around the O2 launch of the iPhone in the UK this November. For one, 60% of the UK iPhone users are sending or receiving more than 25 MB of data a month, equivalent to sending and receiving 7,500 emails.O2's chief, Matthew Key, is excited by the figures, which seem to show that iPhone owners have a strong appetite for data services. In comparison to the iPhone users, only 1.8% of O2's other mobile customers on monthly contracts are consuming data in the 25 MB range.
The increased web surfing from mobile devices may serve to stimulate the world of mobile advertising.
